Vinyl Application
Vinyl sayings should only be applied to clean, hard surfaces (wood, mirrors, walls, cars, refrigerators, lockers, books, etc.). Allow painted surfaces to dry completely before attempting application. Tools Needed: Ruler, Masking Tape, Flat Edge Tool (credit card, rubber spatula, etc.)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICATION
- Take the vinyl strip, just as you've received it, and center onto the surface you are applying to.
- Place a strip of masking tape along the top edge of the vinyl strip to hold it in place (making sure that the vinyl will temporarily remain secure to the surface).
- Using the masking tape as a hinge, lift vinyl strip and slowly peel off the back paper, making certain the words stick to the transparent, sticky transfer tape. Once the backing paper has been peeled off, DO NOT let the transfer tape touch anything but the final surface.
- Pull vinyl strip taut as you hinge the transparent tape and words back into their centered position. Press lettering onto surface, rubbing from the center to the outer letters.
- Using a credit card, rubber spatula, or other flat tool, rub over transfer tape to assist the letters in sticking to the surface. Slowly peel off transfer tape, making certain the letters stick to the surface (if they begin to pull up with tape, replace and rub again).
Instructions for Removal
Using a blow dryer on a low setting, warm vinyl and gently peel off walls.
